Hey y’all!

Now if you guys have been following me for awhile, you know I have been a  million and   one bridal parties. If you’ve ever been in one you know it’s usually accompanied by visits to a bridal salon to try on a number of dresses. However, in this last wedding I was a participant in, the brides vision was easily captured by a dress she found on the popular  clothing website Fashion Nova.

Now I must admit, I was a little nervous about : 1: Ordering a dress online that I had never seen in person and 2. Ordering a fancy dress from Fashion Nova  with whom I was more familiar with their night wear and jeans.

I was absolutely pleasantly surprised! Here’s the dress we wore: ( not in this colour of course )

This was a very popular dress this summer it appears as my size was sold out immediately. I usually wear a US size 10-12( depending on the style of dress and fabric) In this dress based on the size chart, I would fit comfortably in a Medium or a Large with slight alterations.  I needed up having to get a 1X and getting it custom altered to fit me body. Once that was done I was in LOVE with it!

This dress has no zippers or buttons that can often be troublesome in bridal wear. I literally stepped into it and shimmied it up and I was ready to go. This dress is made from 95% Polyester material and 5% spandex. The spandex really makes this piece comfortable to wear, especially if you have to wear it all day. The ruffles on this dress are absolutely perfect to camouflage any trouble areas you may feel you have. ( I know my tummy is a little rounder than I like these days lol! So the ruffles were perfect for me)  Although this dress is an off the shoulder style, it sits so lovely on the shoulders without slipping.

The colour of this wedding was purple, so we got this dress in a rich violet colour. Here is how it looked on me:

We paired this dress with beautiful rose gold sparkly block heels. This shoes were lace up, open toed with a lucite front strap. I couldn’t find the exact ones on the Fashion Nova website, but here are some ones that I like as well and would pair with this dress as well in the same price point:

Would I suggest looking at Fashion Nova for special occasion dresses? Yes absolutely! This dress retailed for $92.71 Canadian and these shoes in particular retailed for $ 39.73 which gave me this whole bridal look for $132.44 Canadian! That’s remarkable !
