Style Sunday: Bring On The Floral Prints…

Hey guys!

Sorry about the lateness of this post, but that good old Sunday after church nap caught me and you know how that goes… One hour turned into four!!!  Oh well! 😛

I’ve been noticing a trend in my fashion choices as of late. I’m usually all about the bright colours ( the yellows, oranges, bright purples) but since last season I have really been gravitating towards a more cool-toned or neutral colour scheme.( Steph if you’re reading this I know you are laughing, because I used to make fun of you for your “boring” colour choices lol) However, in addition to the neutrals, I have also really been enjoying prints, especially those of the floral persuasion!

Now I know everybody who actually physically knows me is laughing because floral print is not something you would ever willingly find me in.. until now! Today i want share with you two floral pieces and how I chose to style them.

The Black Floral Skirt:  Guys, I kid you not, I purchased this skirt no less than 10 years ago on a whim in Old Navy. I needed skirts for church and it was buy one get one 50 percent off ( and LORD KNOWS I LOVE me a good sale 😛 ) so  I picked this up. I wore it once then and it has literally sat in my closet for years. I don’t know how or why It’s managed to stick around through all my clothing purges! Anyway, today I paired it with a black cotton and sheer material bodysuit that I purchased from a store called Sirens. I paired this outfit with my favourite pair of heels, purchased at Aldo many moons ago. These heels are actually so comfortable, I could literally wear them all day!  I kept my jewelry simple with gold hoops and the necklace I wear pretty much everyday with my cross, anchor and baby ring on it.

Since all of these items are quite old to my collection, I will link some similar options down below!
( you can find gold hoops anywhere like Old Navy, Aldo Accessories, Forever 21 etc…..)

The Floral Jumpsuit: The next outfit I wanted to share is a floral jumpsuit from Forever 21. I purchased this jumpsuit back in September to wear to my 3oth birthday dinner! I wore it once more in Mexico this past December and then had to put it away because the good old frigid., long and unbearable Canadian winter took over and outfits like this had to take a backseat for awhile! But alas, the good weather has returned and seems like its here to stay for a bit, so on a sunny Saturday afternoon  I pulled this bad boy out.

What I love about this jumpsuit is that it is adjustable. Straps and at the waist. Like many other girls, my weight fluctuates up and down. This jumpsuit allows you to make it as loose or as tight as you desire. I threw on some basic nude and gold sandals from Target and a detailed choker from Aldo Accessories. I also love that the print isn’t overbearing. You can dress this jumpsuit up or keep it semi casual like I did down below. I threw on a red lip ( Stila’s “Beso’) for a little va va voom factor 😛 .

The choker is a recent purchase so you still find it in store and online here
Similar Sandals also from Target
Similar style jumpsuit as the one I have is no longer being sold at Forever 21
