Hey guys!
Welcome back to another edition of Style Sunday ! This week I kind of stepped out of my comfort zone. Now if you have been following me for awhile, you know I’m a t-shirt and jeans kinda gal ( many of my friends/family will disagree lol) but I also love to glam up those simple jeans and t-shirt outfits. Like, it wouldn’t be odd to see me with 5 inch heels and a bold statement necklace to accompany said jeans 😛 .
So I had a dinner to attend and the dress code was semi-casual. However, the dinner was to celebrate my upcoming birthday, so I wanted to “glam up” my outfit. I picked up a t-shirt dress from H&M. I loved how it looked on the mannequin, and in true Sophie fashion I didn’t try it on. I got home and laid it out on my bed…and instantly began to look for the bill to return this ugly dress to the store asap! I had a moment of panic and had major regrets about purchasing it. The dress is literally a t-shirt with no shape to it! As a lady with some curves on her, I find it really important to wear structured pieces that compliment said curves.
So I went to the drawing board to try and figure how to style this thing! I managed to do it and here’s how:
Dress: I purchased this from H&M. ( click link for purchasing deets) It is in this olive green/khaki colour! It is very thin cotton/jersey material. Once I put it on, I really liked how it laid on my body. Super comfortable. Slight flare on the hemline gives this piece a flirty touch!
Shoes: I added a cute pair of black booties that I purchased years ago from Payless. Here is a link to a pair that is similar.
Hat: I added a black, felt floppy hat. I don’t remember where I purchased this but you can find these hats just about any retail store right now.
Jewelry : Simple gold hoops, gold rope bracelets and a black velvet choker with a cross pendant on it from Aldo accessories.
I did my every day regular make up look ( I really should do a post on it. It’s the most basic routine ever!)
That’s it! How’d I do with this basic t-shirt dress? Let me know and remember…
xoxo
