Monday Motivation: Write The Vision

Hey guys,

Short post today as I am currently in “pack for Mexico” mode. I recently was reminded of a song called “Write the Vision” by Patrick Love.

Let me take you back in time to Inglewood California, December 4th 1999. My dear awesome cousin Michelle Harris- Collins ( fellow blogger, author, motivational speaker, super mom and wonder woman 🙂 ) was standing at the back of a church getting ready to walk towards her groom. Before she made her way down the aisle, her wedding choir ( yes wedding choir :P) led by my friend Nadia Goode ( nee Blake) rendered a few songs. This song was one of them. I didn’t understand the importance of the song or the its correlating scripture at the time ( I was 14 years old) but as I grew up that song followed me.

It became evident to me that If I wanted my dreams and aspirations to come true, I first had to submit myself over to God completely. I had to stop living life on my own. Once I did that, the next step was to tell God my vision… Okay.. did that. But still nothing was happening. Again, this song kept coming back to me. ” Write the vision and make it plain…” I decided to study this song a little more in- depth.
The lyrics to the song are as follows:

Write the vision, make it plain;
that they may run and not faint.
Though the vision is only for awhile,
it shall speak and not lie.
For if the Lord said it,
you can count on it;

Chorus
He will do just what He said.

Bridge
It is so,
yes it so;
He will do just what He said.

Write the vision and make it plain… Literally tell God what it is you desire to do.
For if the Lord says it you can count on it, He will do just what He said…  God has never made a mistake. If he has purposed for your vision to come to fruition you better believe it will come to pass. You may not see how, but just wait on it!

However, ( and this something I have to constantly remind myself) “faith without works is dead!” (James 2: 26 reads: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.) Hence, the onset of this blog and the projects that are soon to follow 🙂  I had to get my butt in gear guys! ( keep me in prayer y’all 🙂 )

As the year draws to a close, I have purposed within myself to write my vision and make it plain! God has shown me that the path I am on is where He wants me to go and I’m excited for where He is taking me! I hope you all will stick around with me and be a continued part of my journey!

One last thing before I go. My friend Charm ( misscharmise on Youtube, Instagram etc.. and  missCharmsie.com) fellow blogger, vlogger, businesswoman extraordinaire 🙂 made a video about two years ago about making a vision board. A vision board is basically a scrapbook project where you make a “visual declaration of what you want for your life” .So I jumped on the bandwagon and have been making them ever since. Its always good to have a visual reminder of what you are trying to achieve for motivation! After my return from Mexico, before I head off on another mini vacay, I am going to spend some time working on my 2016 vision board. I’ll share in the new year! ( I’ll link Charms vision board video down below)  I think it’s so funny that the thing that actually gave me the kick to actually begin this blogging journey, was a tank top with the words “Love Them Anyway” that I actually purchased from one of her business ventures :www.global-warming.ca/. Coincidence? Nah… destiny! So I guess I’ve got to say thanks Charm!! xo

The scripture that coincides with this song is  Habakkuk 2:2-3

Then the Lord answered me and said:
“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,It will not tarry.

The song that started it all:

Have a wonderful Monday!

xoxo
