Dear Mom…

Hey guys!

It’s May 14th and today is Mother’s Day here in Canada. Im up at this crazy hour trying to put the last minute touches on my presentation for church and realized that I haven’t taken any time to thank my own mom for everything. Part of the presentation I am preparing for church is a video project where I had the children’s ministry program write some “Dear Mom” letters to their mothers and caregivers. Some of the things they came up with, were so sweet and touching. It inspired me to write my own….

Dear Mom,

I actually don’t know what I would do without you.
You make the hardest of tasks seem effortless and you complete them with such grace.
You have shown me the dire necessity of prayer and of having a strong relationship with God.
You have taught me how to be resilient in the face of adversity.
I don’t think I tell you enough how much you mean to me.
You make everyone around you feel safe and loved and important.
You give endlessly with no expectation of anything in return.
You have sacrificed so much to ensure that I have never ever wanted for anything, yet you still taught me the importance of hard work and reliability.
I can’t thank you enough for choosing me.
When the doctors told you to get rid of me, because you were “too old” and when people said I wouldn’t amount to anything,
You didn’t give up on me and gave life to me.
You always help me to see the bigger picture when life doesn’t seem to go my way and constantly remind me that God is in control .
We fuss and argue to no end, but without a doubt I can say that you are my very best friend.
I love you my “chim” now and forever !

If I told you her age, you wouldn’t believe me….

My beautiful mama AKA “Chim” ( inside joke 🙂 )

I have so many people around me who don’t have the opportunity to spend Mother’s Day with their moms. Those of us who are blessed to still have our moms here with us in this realm, let’s remember to cherish and love on them now. Tell your mom today ( and everyday ) how much you love her! To those who’s mom have left this earth,( my heart goes out to you) don’t let your moms go. Let their memories live on in your heart and let the love they left behind be felt for generations to come. I get teary eyed at just the thought of my mom not physically here… Special hugs to you on this day, I can’t imagine it’s an easy one…

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there and to those who are playing this very important and sometimes thankless role. In the words of Sizzla, “THANK YOU MAMA!”

Bless!
xoxo
