Hey y’all!
What an amazingly wonderful, busy, hustle and bustle of a weekend I had! On Friday morning I jumped on a plane to NYC to finally lay eyes on and meet my brand new baby godson! ( He is the cutest little peanut! We call him Prince) Along with me were a handful of my childhood/youth besties. It was so beautiful to all be reunited for such an awesome occasion. No matter how far apart we live ( Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, NYC) the relationship is as strong as ever and now we get to watch as the next generation of our friendship/sisterhood begins! My heart is full! ❤
One of the best parts of my visit to NYC was my time spent at the Bronx Church ( cogopbx.com). My friend Minister Morais Cassell was in the house and man did he ever bring a word ! His topic was ” I Will Live and My Seed Will Live Too”. ( He used 2 Kings 6: 26-29 as his text)To Illustrate his message, he handed out sunflower seeds to the congregation. He spoke about not letting anybody destroy your seeds. He explained that your seeds are the things in your life: your children, your marriage, your business plans etc… He encouraged us to be mindful of how and who you let cultivate your seeds. He also encouraged us not to eat our own seeds! Sometimes our own fears interfere with what God has in store for us! We need to step out of the way and let God do His thing. No matter the situation, our seeds must flourish in adversity! We will not let anything destroy our seeds. We will ensure that we take care of the next generations seeds so that for years to come, the gospel will still be sown. Take care of your seeds!!!
We are living in a time where it is so easy to get distracted and not “take care of your crops”. I’m not a farmer, but I know enough to know that if you don’t water and glean and reap your crops, your crops will ultimately go bad. So make sure you also put in the work to allow your seeds to flourish 🙂
This Monday I wanted to share the song, ” I Speak Life” by Donald Lawrence. Be Blessed! You shall LIVE and not DIE!
xoxo
We’re livin’ in a time
Where everybody is strugglin’ for their lives
They’re stressed, they’re depressed
But with the power invested in me
I came to speak life over you
I speak of blessing of help, blessing of peace
To my brothers and sisters all around the world
Specially those in South Africa strugglin’ with AIDS
And Brazil and The States
I speak life, you’re gonna live
Oh, my brother, my sister, I speak life
You are the head and not the tail
You will prevail, I speak life
Don’t give up the fight for your life
You shall live and not die
Let’s not lose another person to a senseless death
Substance abuse, gang violence, suicide
Because of low self esteem
The power of life and death is in the tongue
Speak life over yourself and those you love
Help me sing it
I speak life, you’re gonna live
Oh, my brother, my sister, I speak life
You are the head and not the tail
You will prevail, I speak life
Don’t give up the fight for your life
You shall live and not die
Life to your spirit, life to your soul
May God bless your spirit
By His word be made whole
Fight for your life, you shall live and not die
I speak life, you’re gonna live
Oh, my brother, my sister, I speak life
You are the head and not the tail
You will prevail, I speak life
Don’t give up the fight for your life
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
You shall live and not die
I speak life, you’re gonna live
Oh, my brother, my sister
