Monday Motivation: You Waited…

Monday Motivation: You Waited…

Hey beautiful people!

I hope this Monday is treating you well! Today’s post was not what I had in mind at all but when I wake up with a song on my heart that keeps looping in my head all day… well it must be for a reason. So I scrapped my original post and so here we have today’s thoughts  which deal on the topic of what it means to wait.

Dictionary.com has a number of definitions for the word wait. The ones that really stuck for me were:

  • to remain inactive or in a state of repose, as until something expected happens
  • (of things) to be available or in readiness:
  • to remain neglected for a time:
    a matter that can wait.

Keep these in mind. We will come back to them in a minute.

Have you been ready to go somewhere, and then had to pick someone up…. and then wait on them? Ooooooh that really grinds my gears! Anybody who knows me well, knows that I HATE WAITING! I’m always the first one ready, always the first to arrive at the restaurant and always the one anxiously waiting for everyone else to be ready ( all my friends can attest to this)  Waiting is just not my gift… lol pray for me!

I remember one time I slept over at my best friends house. My best friend whose dad was the pastor of my church,( and my godfather) told us he was leaving! We were procrastinating and still getting ready, not thinking that he would actually leave us. However, when we heard the van start up, and saw it backing out the driveway, our little preteen selves had to grab our shoes in hand and run down the driveway in our stockings and catch the van before it turned the corner and hit the main roads! I still laugh about it to this day and think that was the catalyst that made me so irritated with waiting- the fear of being left behind

Today I woke up with the song, “You Waited” by Travis Greene in my head.  The lyrics read:
You called out my name
Knew my past, covered my shame
This amazing grace
You’ve shown, so patiently
You’ve shown, so patiently

And You
You waited
For me, just for me
You waited
For me, just for me

Where would I be?
If You left me God
Where would I be?
If You left me God
Where would I be?
If You left me God
Where would I be?
If You left me God

But You waited, waited
You waited, waited
You waited, waited
You waited, waited

God is so patient with us. He has given us this gift of salvation that so many of us choose to ignore for so long, but He never gives up on us. Instead, He waits patiently for us to choose Him! The part of the song that simply states, ” You waited just for me..” brings to light the fact that you and me( yes little old you and me ) are so precious to Almighty God that He would wait just for us. He wants to give us all that our hearts desire, but sometimes we get in the way of His plans.  Most people would give up on someone who keeps meddling in their plans.. I know I probably would walk away! But He doesn’t… and won’t give up on us. I can’t stress the fact that God is just waiting for you to choose Him.
What would become of us if God decided to be impatient with us and give up?  The line in the song thats simply states “Where would I be, If you left me God ” is an actual cry of my heart! Where on earth would I be if God decided to treat me with the same impatience I sometimes treat him with? As I stated before I hate waiting, and God currently has me in a state of perpetual waiting… what a way to teach me a lesson! (God’s funny that way isn’t He?)

Going back to the definitions of the word wait, It may seem that life is at a standstill or
Inactive at the moment, or it even might seem that God has neglected you  for a time. But don’t give up hope! In our season of waiting, God is teaching us to trust His timing.  For us impatient people, its hard to wait and see the full picture of what God is doing. But remember while you are waiting, take heed in the fact that He is preparing you for something spectacular! So while you are waiting,  seek Him and  stay ready!!

One of the scriptures that I hold dear and that has been supporting me through my season of wait is  Isaiah 40:31 (New King James Version (NKJV)) which reads:

31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Theres a little chorus I love that mirrors these words and ends with the line, “teach me Lord how to wait”

Dear God,
Help us to stay patient in our season of wait. Help us to remember that your ways are not our ways and in the midst of every season, you are working things out on our behalf! Help us to remember that the season of wait, is not a forever season and better things are coming ahead! Teach us Lord how to wait!
Amen!

Whatever it is you are waiting for, wait on God! He’ll work it out ❤

Have an amazing Monday!

Monday Motivation: I Just Want You…

Monday Motivation: I Just Want You…

Hey loves!

Quick post today!

Today’s post comes from a total place of submission. This wasn’t the post I was going to post today. But in my quiet time with God this evening, He dropped the song ” Just Want You” by Travis Greene into my spirit. ( BTW Travis Greenes Album The Hill has been blessing me for almost 2 years now, If you haven’t listened to it, please get it! Trust me. It’s right there!)

The lyrics of the song are so simple. They simply say:

So take everything
I don’t want it
I don’t need it, God
Won’t you take everything
I don’t want it
I don’t need it, God
I just want you
I just want you
I just want you
I just want you
We just want you
We just want you
We just want you
We just want you

Not only am I learning to be content with  what I have, God is molding me to be content with what I don’t! That’s huge!

What is the actual meaning of content?  According to dictionary.com, the adjective content means to be in a state of peaceful happiness. To be content in the season in that God has placed you in, is something a lot of people have a hard time with.

Thinking about being content leads me to think of the story of Job. ( If you get a chance , read all about him in the Old Testament section of the bible:) )

Job was a man who God allowed to have everything taken from him, yet in his state of grief and pain and despair, never allowed his faithfulness to waver.  He lost his health, he lost his children and yet still he worshipped! His very own wife told him to  “curse God and die” ( Job 2:9) How, may you ask, could someone who has lost everything precious to him still find the heart to worship…. Because he was content! Not content with the fact that he was losing everything, but content in knowing that God he served had already written his story and exercised his faith to trust the season he was experiencing was for a purpose!

Its hard to be content with something or in a troublesome season when you don’t know why it’s happening.  Let’s face it, we are humans, and sometimes our flesh takes over and our spiritual side takes a back burner.  We are not always able to see the big picture and are often impatient to let God’s plan play out without meddling somehow!

How many of us Christians can say that if God decided to take everything we have away from us right now, that we would still trust him and serve him? Food for thought…

I pray that God gives me ( and humans in general ) a heart like Job . A heart so wrapped up in the grace of God to not give up on Him, no matter how hard life gets, because if you look at the end of Job’s story, everything he lost, he got back two-fold!  Sometimes the blessing is at the end of the storm, but are you strong enough to weather it…

Take everything! I just want You Jesus!

Have a blessed Monday!

Monday Motivation: It Is So….

Hi guys,

Super quick blog post today! I just wanted to share a song I have been jamming on for a few weeks and had on repeat today! The song is “It is So ” by William Mcdowell featuring Travis Greene. The lyrics in full are right here, but I just wanted to touch on one part of the song that really stood out to me:

Well, He is Alpha – AMEN!
And Omega – AMEN!
He’s the beginning – AMEN!
And the end – AMEN!
Through every trial – AMEN!
Tribulation – AMEN
He always causes His people to win

What a comforting feeling to know that no matter what I’m going through, there is a God on the battlefield fighting for me and with him on my side I will be a winner EVERY TIME! Amen!! ❤

Take a listen to this song and be blessed!

Monday Motivation: Made A Way….

Monday Motivation: Made A Way….

Hey guys!

I hope this Monday is finding you in good health and good spirits. I am in extremely good spirits today!  I received some good news today from a friend! I won’t share the news here on my blog because my friend is extremely private but it is news I personally have been praying for for a long time! Today, I literally cried real living eye water boo hoo tears in the middle of my work day and could care less who was watching! Happy tears are the best tears and I was so happy to shed these ones! 🙂

Usually when a song resonates in my spirit,  I don’t usually know the reason why until later. The song “Made a Way” by Travis Greene has been on replay in my head ( and on my phone, in the car, on the Bose speaker etc.. lol) for the past few days. When this situation with my friend happened today  I understood why! Let me break down the song lyrics for you as it relates to me right now.

Made a way
Don’t know how but you did it
Made a way
Standing here not knowing how will get through this test
But holding unto faith you know that
Nothing can catch you by surprise
You got this figured out and youre watching us now
But when it looks as if we cant win
You wrap us in your arm and step in
And everything we need you supply
You got this in control
And now we know that

You made a way
When our backs were against the wall
And it looked as if it was over
You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because you made a way
You made a way

I have been in situations before where I was just about to throw in the towel. Literally didn’t see a way for whatever negative situation that was occurring to become positive. But this section of the song reminds me that even though I can’t see the big picture, God has my life planned out already and has everything in control! Sometimes its hard to give up control to someone else even the very person who created us! I still struggle with this sometimes but as of late ( and due to my stubbornness at times to give up control) He has just been taking control whether I like it or not! I’m learning slowly.. Pray for me ! 🙂

Now we’re here
Looking back on where we come from
Because of you and nothing we’ve got
To deserve the love and mercy you’ve shown
But your grace was strong enough to pick us up

I can’t ever speak enough about God’s love and his undying mercy! I literally should be dead.. and I’m not saying that to be cute. I shouldn’t be here today but for God’s mercy and his love and unmerited favour on my life I am here! He’s brought me out of some dark places and I am forever humbled and grateful.

You move mountains
You cause walls to fall
With your power
You perform miracles
There is nothing that’s impossible
And we’re standing here
Only because you made a way

You made a way [x4]

Don’t know how but you did it
Made a way
Don’t know how but you did it
Made a way

Don’t know how but you did it [x4]

Don’t know why but I’m grateful [x4]

Don’t know how but I’m grateful

I can say for my friend and the situation my friend was facing that there were times where my friend could have totally given up hope and accepted what man had declared. But my friend also has a strong relationship with the God I serve so I know that it is easy for my friend to relate to this section of the song. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is impossible when God is in the midst! The biggest obstacle you are facing, He can remove it! Those mountains or that wall blocking the view of a brighter tomorrow , He can tear those down! Another ad lib ( impromptu lyrics) in this song says ” Strong holds are breaking” whatever has you bound, God will remove it!  How does He do it???!! In all actuality, I don’t know! I do know that He is God all powerful, all knowing and able to do all things!! The line that tops it all off and brings tears to my eyes as I write this is  “Don’t know why but I’m grateful” I am eternally grateful that God is still in the business of “making a way” for His people!  My heart is full! My spirit is full. God showed up today and through my friend reminded me that He is currently and will always make a way!!

Please check out this song “Made a Way” by Travis Greene! I hope it blesses your soul as much as it does mine! Actually check out his entire album ” The Hill”! This young man truly can relate the songs he sings. He was born as a stillborn baby and was resuscitated! At the age of fout, he fell from a four story building and was dead and was once again resuscitated! If that is not living proof that God makes a way, then I don’t know what is! How are you going to be declared dead 2 times and live and not sing  the praises of Almighty God! How Sway? How!! ( lol)

Whatever He has planned for your life, nobody nor anything can stop it!

Have a blessed Monday y’all!!

xoxo

Monday Motivation: All Things Are Working For My Good…

Monday Motivation: All Things Are Working For My Good…

Hey y’all!

Really quick blog post today ( I promise I’ll give you guys a substantial one tomorrow 🙂 ) I have just had this one song on repeat for the last 3 days. I can’t explain why. Maybe it’s just to remind me that God has a plan and He’s working it out for me… or maybe someone out there needs this word… The artist is Travis Greene and the song is called ” Intentional”

The lyrics are so simple, a basic repetition of the same message:

All things are working for my good
He’s intentional, never failing ( repeat)

All things are working for my good ( repeat)

Oh oh oh…….  ( repeat)

I don’t have to worry cause its working for me
its working for me, its working for me

He’s intentional ( repeat)
Never failing

We serve a God that not only knows our hearts desires, but created that very heart and knows what is best for it. We may not always see or understand God’s plan but let’s remember what it says in Romans 8:28:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

So stay blessed! Be at peace, hold on to hope and have a wonderful Monday! ❤

Here is the song! Please have a listen 🙂  Travis Greene is truly an underrated artist! He has a Mali music kind of vibe!
