Are They Worth The Hype: Clean and Clear Morning Burst Products…

Hey y’all,

I’m back again with another product review. I’m still on the search for some products to create a new skincare regime and so, I decided to try out the Clean and Clear Morning Burst products to see how my skin would react to them.

Let’s get to it!

Clean and Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser:

THE PACKAGING:

The packaging is what actually caught my eye initially. I was drawn to the teal packaging.  ( I seem to have a thing for teal packaging lol)  I also really liked seeing the little bursting beads. The packaging is efficient as it has a large pump at the top that easily distributes the product with little to no mess.

THE PRODUCT:

I actually really enjoyed this product much more than I anticipated. It has a very fresh scent of cucumber and green mango extract which provides a very appealing scent for first thing in the morning. The bursting beads provided a good cleanse which aided in getting all the previous nights impurities off of my face. Yet, it wasn’t too harsh. A little bit of this product certainly went a long way.

RESULTS ON MY SKIN:

After using this product for about a month, I can’t honestly say that it did much for oil control or blemishes. However, this product is not specifically geared to combat these two things.  I will say, it has left my skin extremely clean and refreshed. It did not strip my face of its natural oils but did remove some of the excess oil temporarily.

COST:

This is a very cost-effective product.  A 235 ml bottle of this product retails for $6.97 (Canadian Dollars) at our local Walmart.

IS IT WORTH THE HYPE:

Absolutely! I would definitely repurchase this product again and again.

Clean and Clear Morning Burst Oil-Free Hydrating Gel Moisturizer

THE PACKAGING:

The packaging is very similar to that of the cleanser, What I really like about this is that with it being only 94 ml, it is small enough to throw in your purse if you need to reapply and is the perfect travel size.

THE PRODUCT:

I love this product! It is very reminiscent of the Tatcha Water Cream moisturizer. The very light gel-like texture provided the perfect amount of moisture and hydration to my skin. The only thing that I don’t care for is that it can feel a bit tacky on the skin once it is completely absorbed

RESULTS ON MY SKIN:

My skin absolutely loves this product. I find that my skin is much more supple as a result of using this product each morning. This product literally keeps my skin. hydrated all day long without adding too much oil in my t-zone.

COST:

This product is very cost-effective. An 84 ml tube of this cream will only cost you $6.97 (Canadian currency)

IS IT WORTH THE HYPE:

Absolutely. This is probably one of my all-time favourite moisturizers.

Are They Worth The Hype: Tatcha Water Cream and Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser

Are They Worth The Hype: Tatcha Water Cream and Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser

Hey y’all!

It’s been quite some time since I tried any new skin care products. Over the past few months, my general health has been going through some changes ( nothing too serious so don’t be alarmed 🙂 ) and as a result of that my skin has been going through it y’ all! I have been blessed to have had overall good skin throughout my life. Barely a blemish… EVER! Until recently my face has been experiencing said blemishes, dullness and is just overall BLAH. So, I  decided to test a few different products out to try and figure out a new routine to get my skin back on track- starting with these two Tatcha products.

Now, these products ARE NOT products I would ever purchase on my own simply because of the price. But the Sephora VIB sale and the travel sizes of these two products made this possible(LOL) so thank you Sephora! Let’s get to reviewing!

 Tatcha Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser:

This is a gel cleanser product which is ( as I’ve been told) great for the oily /combination skin that I have.

The Packaging:

The soft teal colour of the packaging is appealing to the eye. What I don’t care for in this product’s container, is that I’m not a huge fan of the squeeze bottle top. The hole is so small that you have to give it a good squeeze to get the product out and some times too much product comes out.

The Product:

I absolutely love how much of a gentle exfoliant this product is! You most definitely can feel it breaking down the debris on your skin but it isn’t harsh. It also leaves your skin feeling ever so soft.  A little bit of this product goes a long way. It has a light, fresh and fruity scent that is very appealing to my nose!

Results on my skin:

I used this product for about 2 weeks consistently on my skin and honestly, I didn’t notice that huge of a difference on my skin except I  did notice that I was slightly less oily.

Cost:

A 5 oz bottle of this product will run you… $49.00 ( Canadian Currency) Yikes…

Is it Worth The Hype:

No. And the price of this product solidifies this for me

Tatcha - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL Clean at Sephora

Tatcha Water Cream

So many beauty influencers swear by this cream so I decided to give it try! I truly wanted to know what all the hype was about…

The Packaging:

Once again the teal packaging with gold accents was really appealing to the eye. I liked that this cream came in jar form. It really allowed for the careful distribution of the product.

The Product:

The thin water like texture was very appealing to me. A small amount of the product was able to effectively moisturize my entire face without adding excess oil to my skin.

Results on my skin:

Ok, I loved this product! While I have combination skin with the majority of oils settling on my t-zone, my skin still had the ability to look dull and sallow.  This product really helped bring life back to my skin! I felt comfortable enough to go bare-faced after a few weeks of consistent use.

Cost: A 1.70z jar of this will cost you $89.00 ( Canadian) YIKES!

Is it Worth The Hype:

Yes! I love how it worked for my skin. However, the price point certainly kept me on the hunt for products that are more cost effective. (stayed tuned)

Tatcha - The Water Cream 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Clean at Sephora

I was able to purchase the travel sized duo of these products for only $33.00( Canadian) at my local Sephora.

Beauty Blog: Oily Skin Routine….

Beauty Blog: Oily Skin Routine….

Hi guys,

I’m back with another beauty blog. This one is all about what I have been doing as of late to combat this new onset of oily skin I have been battling. I have always had combination skin ( some parts dry and some parts oily) but in the last year or so my skin has fared more on the oily side especially in my t-zone area (“The T-zone is the part of your face consisting of the forehead, nose and the area around your mouth, including the chin. It is so named because it’s shaped like the letter ‘T’.” Oil tends to build up in the t-zone, so it’s particularly important to exfoliate.http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=T-zone)

Now if you know me, I am a product junkie! If I see it, I will probably try it! But over time I have learned ( especially with my skin care routine) If the method ain’t broke, don’t fix it! So I decided to go back to my old routine, old products and see how that would help my skin!

So let me walk you through my routine!

  1. Drink lots of water! Up until a few years ago I never ever drank water. Maybe a glass here or there a couple of times a week. ( I know , I know…. horrible) But now, I’ve seen the light! I drink about 2 litres of water a day! I have replaced my daily pop ( and those who know me well, know I have/had (lol) a serious addiction to Dr. Pepper.) with a glass of water! Sometimes I’ll add a lemon or I’ll make a detox water with lemons, cucumbers and a mint leaf or two. So refreshing! Anyway, water intake is super important for healthy skin( our skin is our largest organ and needs to stay hydrated)
  2. Remove Excess Makeup: I have tried every single make-up removal wipe possible, but honestly the best wipes that take off my make-up, are good old-fashioned baby wipes! I use the sensitive/eco-friendly ones from the Baby Life Brand! They retail for about 4 dollars Canadian Dollars or sometimes you can get a value pack for about 8 bucks!
  3. Exfoliate: I stick to my old faithful ( holy grail if you will) product: the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Acne Wash  Foaming Scrub. I love this product with everything in me! If they ever discontinue this product, I don’t know what I’ll do! 😛  I use this product with my Proactiv Deep Cleansing Brush. Using an exfoliating skin product alongside a cleansing brush really helps give your skin the deep clean it needs.
  4. Cleanse: I’ve recently returned to one of the first skin care products I ever used consistently in my skin care routine. Its the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser. I love this product. It leaves my face feeling clean and dry ( but not overly drying)
  5. Moisturize: Although my skin has oily patches, It’s still very important to get skin moisturized. I haven’t found my go to product yet so I have been trying out a few. Firstly, I have been using the Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF 30. It is light-weight and not much product is needed to cover your entire face. It does have a strong sunscreen smell to it however that I am not to fond of. It is a bit pricey at about 20 Canadian dollars.Next, I have been trying the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream from The Body Shop.  It does a pretty good job of controlling my oils. Again, a little goes a long way with this product. This retails for approximately 18 dollars Canadian. #Lastly, I have been trying the 8 hr Mattifying Moisturizer from Sephora. I must admit, I really love this product. It is quite expensive at 27 Canadian Dollars for 1.69 oz of product. However, you don’t have to use a lot of product daily ( just about a dime size) so its serves you well. I find this one wears well especially under my foundation.  So hopefully this method and/or products work for you! I have been doing this routine for about a month or so and I am loving the results. Let me know what you have been using! Any suggestions for me? Let me know!

xoxo
