Monday Motivation: The Potter…

Monday Motivation: The Potter…

He picks up the clay,  feels its gritty texture in His hands,
Slowly He adds water to it and as it begins to soften,
 He begins to shape it.
Impecably, He intricately designs each feature ,
Each detail unique to this creation. How marvellous that He took simple clay ,
not beautiful by any means,
…and turned it into a masterpiece…- “The Potter”©Sophia Windett

Hey guys!

Every morning at 3:39 am ( yes exactly this time), my eyes fly open. I have come to terms with the fact that this is the time that God wants me to talk to Him in prayer. So, I do… but after that, sometimes I find it absolutely impossible to fall back to sleep. So what better way to pass time, than to throw on some good old Netflix to lull me back to sleep.  As I scrolled through the endless options of shows and movies, I came upon an old classic that I love, “Ghost”.( Ghost is a movie starring the late great Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg. If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely one you should check out)  There is a scene in the movie where Molly, one of the main characters is working on a piece of art with clay and a potters wheel ( cue “Unchained Melody”) all my 80’s babies know this timeless love scene!  ( I’ll link it right here)  What has always drawn to me to this scene is how detailed and delicate a potter has to be with clay.  One false move and the whole thing could fall apart. But if handled with care, it could be some of the most beautiful pieces of art .

In the wee hours of the morning, this had me thinking about the master potter. (God)   The bible makes many references to the potter and clay. The one that is most prevalent in my mind is Jeremiah 18.  In this chapter the prophet Jeremiah ventures down to the potters house. As he approaches him, he sees the potter working on some clay.  The clay became spoiled in his hands causing him to have to go back to the potters wheel and start over.  It was then that the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah and began to draw the analogy between what the potter was doing with the clay in comparison to what God was doing with Judah. To summarize, the Lord  is showing Jeremiah that Judah is like clay in his hands, for him to mold… or tear down if He has to.

I find it so easy to draw parallel to my life as it applies to this story.  Oftentimes, I conveniently tend to forget that my life is not my own. I am inclined to take things into my own hands and try to “mold” my life as I want it to work out. Now, you can imagine how that has been working out for me….. EPIC FAIL!

When you take things into your own hands you take the place of the potter. The potter is the one who knows the clay intimately. The Potter is the one who holds the design for that specific piece of clay. As you see with the clip I inserted earlier from the movie Ghost,  when Molly ( the master potter in this sense) was working alone, the piece was coming along nicely. Now once, Sam ( Patrick Swayze) comes in and tries to help, the whole thing falls apart.  Such as with us; when we let God ( the master potter ) do His thing,  He is able to piece the vision He had of us, His beautiful delicate  masterpiece  together. But as we humans tend to do , we are inclined to jump in and “help” thus messing up everything! Which, in turn causes the potter to go back to the drawing wheel and start over.  Sometimes He has to tear us down to remould us and make us like he intended.

Life is gonna happen. We are human! We are going to  make mistakes. We are going to crumble. But we have comfort in knowing that when we do, the potter is just waiting to put us back together. After all, what creator doesn’t want to see His masterpiece reach It’s full potential ! 🙂

The song, “The Potter’s House” (the Vashawn Mitchell version)  is one of my favourite songs.  I want to leave the lyrics here so you can read them. Powerful words. They are as follows:

In case you have fallen by the wayside of life
Dreams and visions shattered, you’re all broken inside
You don’t have to stay in the shape that you’re in
The potter wants to put you back together again
Oh, the potter wants to put you back together again
In case your situation has turned upside down
And all that you’ve accomplished, is now on the ground
You don’t have to stay in the shape that you’re in
The potter wants to put you back together again
Oh, the potter wants to put you back together again
You who are broken, stop by the potter’s house
You who need mending, stop by the potter’s house
Give Him the fragments of your broken life
My friend, the potter wants to put you back together again
Oh, the potter wants to put you back together again
You who need mending (if your heart needs mending, come on by) stop by the potter’s house (the potter’s house)
Give Him the fragments of your broken life
There’s joy… in the Potter’s house.
Joy… in the Potter’s house.Peace… in the Potter’s house.
Peace… in the Potter’s house.Love… in the Potter’s house.
Love… in the Potter’s house.

Salvation… in the Potter’s house.
Healing… in the Potter’s house.

Deliverance… in the Potter’s house.
Deliverance… in the Potter’s house.

You’ll find everything you need in the potter’s house
You’ll find everything you need in the potter’s house
You’ll find everything you need in the potter’s house
You’ll find everything you need in the potter’s house
Because the potter wants to put you back together again
Oh, the potter wants to put you back together again

You don’t have to stay in the shape that you’re in… because the potter wants to put you back together again! (My favourite lyric. )
Whatever you are going through, give it back to the potter and let Him fix it for you!
Have a blessed Monday everyone! May this week be full of joy, peace and happiness!

Monday Motivation: You Deserve It…

Monday Motivation: You Deserve It…

Hey y’all!

After a much needed vacation, ( spent a lovely week in Cuba with friends and friends like family) I am back again with another edition of Monday Motivation!

While sitting on the balcony of my hotel room throughout the week, I spent a lot of time in reflection . See, I am an early riser ( no matter how late I go to sleep) so I had many an opportunity to watch the sun come up, hear the birds chirp, and listen to the calm crash of the ocean.  During my time of reflection, along with reading something uplifting ( I’m currently doing a study of the book of Exodus using a awesome devotional that I’ll link down below) I also liked to listen to music. One song that kept resonating in my spirit and I kept on repeat was “You Deserve It” by JJ Hairston . I stumbled across this song while catching up on my sister girl blogger friends’  blog (No strings Attached here on  WordPress) post.

I really began to think,  how often do we actually give God our praise and unadulterated worship simply because He deserves it and not because it is required?

When you enter into a relationship with Christ, it kinda goes without saying that He requires your worship and praise.Oftentimes, I find we as Christians( me included!) get stuck in a rut where we simply go through the motions! Where we attend services and lift our hand in worship because its “required”.  We tend to forget all that He has done for us. The mere fact that He sent His son to die on a cross for simple sinners like us, that we might have life and have it more abundantly ( John 3:16-17, John 10:10) is reason enough to give him praise!

We sometimes lack worship because its almost as if we expect Him to come through every time,  with no intention of giving honour to whom honour is due! Have you ever done something wholeheartedly and received  not even a thank you? Even though you probably weren’t doing it for the praise, gratitude feels really nice. Think about how God feels, He does everything for us with only expectation being that we worship Him in spirit and in truth

23 But a time is coming and has now come when the trueworshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”… )

Take some time out to give God some praise simply because He deserves it!
If He woke you up in your right mind… HE DESERVES IT!
Took you out of a bad situation?… HE DESERVES IT!
Restored a broken heart?….HE DESERVES IT!
The fact that he is simply the “I AM WHO I AM” creator of everything, healer, doctor, lawyer, friend is more than enough reason to give Him praise!

Give him praise not only because you’re supposed to,but because you want to and simply because He deserves it!  This is the cry of my heart right now!

My hallelujah belongs to You
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it

All of the glory belongs to You
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it

Call &Resp;: Hallelujah
All the glory, All the honour,
All the praise
You deserve

Monday Motivation: Let Praises Rise…

Monday Motivation: Let Praises Rise…

Hey y’all,

Quick post today…

There’s a lot going on in our world. Senseless killings of black men and women have left people of colour afraid for their lives. There are those who will cower in fear, those who will speak up politically to bring about change, and then there are those who will retaliate with the same semblance of violence  we have become so fearful of…

As a woman of colour, living the Christian life, its hard not to harbour feelings of resentment with each passing day, hearing that another Alton Sterling or Trayvon Martin has lost their life… It’s difficult to hear about another life being cut short at the hands of those who took an oath to serve and protect,  because of their unmerited fear.

How do we as Christians let Christ shine when we are so hurt and angry and scared? As much as I would love to retaliate ( the flesh in me is a warrior) , I know that vengeance is not mine.

Romans  12:19 New Living Translation (NLT) reads:
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,“I will take revenge;  I will pay them back,”[a says the Lord.

I listened to a song today that reminded me of the path I need to be on. The song “Let Praises Rise” by Myron Butler has a lyric that reads, ” Fill my life, till all they see is you Lord..”.

Let them not see my hurt and anguish or pain.
Let them not see me in the depths of lament or despair.
Let not my anger take precedence in my life.
But through me, let them see You God! A comforter, A father, A friend…

Today and everyday,  I want God to be glorified in my life. Through the happy times, but especially in the dark times. Even then, He is still a God with a plan… we may not understand or even agree with it, but he is a sovereign God who’s plan is always right.

“All I want, is for you to be glorified, for You to be lifted high”

Take a listen to “Let Praises Rise” and have a blessed Monday!

Let praises rise
from the inside
From the inside of me
May you delight
in the inside
In the inside of me
Come fill my life
from the inside
From the inside of me
Set me on fire
from the inside
From the inside of me

Cuz’ all I want
Is for you
For you to be glorified
For you to be lifted high
All I want
Is for you
For you to be glorified
For you to be lifted high

Fill my life
till all they see
is you Lord
Glorify Your name
Fill my heart
till all they see
is you Lord
Glorify Your name

Monday Motivation: All I Have To Give…

Monday Motivation: All I Have To Give…

Hey guys!

Sorry that I have been missing in action for this past week. Lots of health issues plaguing me and my family so I had to handle business! Now that we are on the mend for the most part, I’ll be flooding your feeds once again. 🙂

I was scrolling through my Ipod awhile back and I came across the song, “All I Have to Give” by an artist called Mali Music. This was the first song I ever heard by this artist many many years ago and I instantly fell in love with it. The song is so simple, but the message so real!  I had an opportunity to meet Mali and sing as part of an opening act at a concert held in my city a few years back. He was so humble and down to earth!  He has since deviated from the gospel industry but this particular song will always hold a special place in my heart.

Me and Mali Music after the show!

What does it actually mean to give your all?  To give your all simply means to put all your energy and time into a task or a person. To give completely of yourself, unselfishly with no holds barred.

Now, I have some great friends and family who I am quite certain would be ( and have been) there for me whenever I needed them, but even that has its limitations.

Speaking as a person who has entered into a relationship with Christ, sometimes as Christians we don’t give God our all .  It’s almost as if we use Him at our leisure or convenience expecting everything  from Him and giving less than our best in return.  Hmm, that doesn’t seem fair does it?  Put yourself at the short end of stick? How would you feel?

God has already given us the greatest gift when He sent His son Jesus Christ as a living sacrifice to atone for our sins. All He asks in return is that you love Him with all your heart, soul and mind.
Matthew 23:37 reads, Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

To love anything with you heart, soul and mind, you really have to commit to the process!

The Heart: Proverbs 4:23 ( NLT) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Keep your heart pure. Don’t harbour malice or hate. Love people as God loves people. Strive to have a heart of compassion as Christ does. Don’t let  life and it’s many follies turn your heart away from God.

The Soul: Matthew 16:26 (NLT)  “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”  The last part of that scripture really resonates with me . Is anything worth more than your soul? I certainly don’t think so. Keep your soul aligned with God’s plan for your life. How you ask? Dig deeper into His word ( the bible) spend time in prayer and seek guidance and direction from the one who created you.

The Mind: Romans 12:2 (NLT)  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”  This world we live in  has so many distractions and things that can leer your off course. But learn to stand out and go against the grain! You don’t have to do what everybody is doing. Through Christ Jesus, you are a new person.Don’t let your mind be manipulated into deviating from the course set before you!

This song All I Have to Give, is truly a love song to God. The author ( Mali) proclaims that everything he has, he will offer to God and that his whole embodiment belongs to God.

That’s how I feel about God. If you haven’t had an opportunity to encounter God and build a relationship with Him, I pray you do! It’s truly a wonderful thing!

Take a listen to song and read the lyrics down below. I hope it blesses you like it has blessed me!

Have a blessed week!

[Verse 1:]

Lord if I could buy you a gift to show you my love, tell you how I feel.
It wouldn’t matter what I’d have to give. I would find a way to get it for you.
But fortunately that’s not the case and we both know I don’t have bank anyway.
But I won’t let it affect my presentation to you ’cause this is what I bring…

Here is my heart, my mind, Lord here’s my life, my everything. Take it. It’s yours oh Lord.

[Verse 2:]
I’ll give you my all, my everything, every song that I write,
Every song that I sing, every day of my life, every breath that I breathe,
You gave to me and Lord I rededicate it right back to you. Love of my life, so faithful, so true.
I get goosebumps just thinking about you and there’s nothing I will not do for you so

Here is (my) my heart (yeah) my mind (Lord here’s my life)
Lord here’s my life (oh oh oh oh oh oh) my everything (yeah) take it (take it) it’s yours oh Lord It’s all I have
[Repeat chorus and end with “to give”]

I give you my best ’cause I love you… I’m yours
[Repeat chorus till fade]

Monday Motivation: Victory Belongs To Jesus…

Monday Motivation: Victory Belongs To Jesus…

Hey guys!

So another NBA season has come to an end, and I can honestly say that it was probably one of the most interesting playoff seasons I’ve watched  in a long time. Now, I wasn’t invested in any particular team this season as I am a true die-hard New York Knicks fan and if you follow basketball, you know…. we’ve had a rough couple of years (LOL) I refused to jump on the bandwagon of this Steph Curry vs Lebron James battle of this last series. I mean people who I know don’t watch basketball all season long were hyping up these guys to the max! I saw people engaging in conversation ( or arguments)  on who was the best player in the NBA, who deserves the championship, was it rigged etc…  Alas, the Cleveland Cavaliers were victorious and were crowned the Champions.

Hmm… victorious…. that word kept resonating in my spirit all day today. If there’s  one thing about being submissive to God, is that He always makes plain the message He is trying to send you.

I started a new devotional today on my YouVersion bible app. It’s a devotional written by gospel artist Todd Dulaney wherein he uses his songs in written inspiration and encouragement. After I finished reading today I pulled up his album and put it on shuffle and can you guess what song came on first?? It was “Victory Belongs To Jesus”. ( Sidenote: get this album folks. It’s amazing 🙂 )

Aha! Things were slowly beginning to make sense! Let’s break down what it means to be victorious. The word victorious means ” having won a victory; triumphant.” . What is a victory?  A victory is an act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition ( So then that must mean a victor is a person who defeats an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition.

We can definitely say that Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were victorious and are victors after last nights achievements. We can also say that Steph Curry  and the Golden State Warriors are also victors coming off their record breaking season. Many people look up to these gentlemen ( and they are most certainly deserving of all the accolades they receive) but other than provide entertainment…. what have they done for you? Sometimes I think we ( myself included) get caught up in the hype and place strong praise on people who are just as ordinary as you and I .

The song “Victory Belongs to Jesus”  really spoke to me today and helped shift things into perspective. It’s easy to say that Lebron won the championship yesterday based on his skill alone…. but then who enabled him with that skill? We are giving all the applause to Lebron, yet forgetting the person who destined those skills over his life. ( God)

God wins battles for us everyday that we don’t even see!I am a firm believer that our lives were planned before  we were even existence. Meaning, any hardships  that come our way, were already planned in a sense, but we can take comfort in knowing that we are not fighting our battles alone and that the One who is battling on our behalf  reigns victorious!

So in happy times, remember God is victorious!
In sad times, remember God is victorious!

In your smallest accomplishments or your greatest feats, the Victory always belongs to Jesus!

Take a listen to this song by Todd Dulaney and have a powerful, exuberant week!

Who can stand against the Lord.
No one can, No one will.
Who can stand against the king.
No one can, No one will.

ohhh, ohhh, Victory Belongs To Jesus
Victory belongs to Him.

We put our trust in you.
We put our hope in you.

You will deliver,
you’re a provider
I find my victory in you.
Forever victorious, forever we win.
I find my victory in you.

Victory Belongs To Jesus
Victory belongs to Him

. ohhh, ohhh,

Victory Belongs To Jesus
Victory belongs to Him.

Monday Motivation: Always…

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope this Monday finds you in good health and good spirits! I am finally really on the mend! Finally getting my minor health issues under control and am able to be up and moving around like the old me!

This weekend, I spent lots of time with friends and friends who are more like family.  I attended a fantastic stag and doe, a beautiful bridal party brunch for one of my dearest friends ( you can’t beat 25 years of friendship!) and then celebrated the same friends grandmothers 90th birthday ! Busy and full weekend surrounded by some of best people God has ever created!

At the end of the weekend, I spent some time reflecting on friendship. I have amazing friends who have really been there for me during some of the darkest times of my life. But, on the contrary, I have had some “friends” who have not been there for me. “Friends” who have kicked me when I was down ( figuratively speaking) and rejoiced in my failures… I use the word “friend” in quotations because to me that’s not the definition of a friend.

Merriam- Webster dictionary has a real simple definition of the word friend. It defines a friend as:

  • a person who you like and enjoy being with

  • : a person who helps or supports someone or something

  • one attached to another by affection or esteem

This really got me thinking about a great friend that I have…. and His name is Jesus! I know, I know super cliche but it’s so true. I have 2 best friends, that would do anything for me ( and vice versa) but even so there are limitations to what our friendship can do for each other.

My friendship with Jesus, really hits the definition of friendship on the head.Do I enjoy being with Jesus? Absolutely! I find peace and solace in my quiet time with Him! Does He support me ? Of course! Jesus is my biggest cheerleader! He also isn’t afraid to check me and put me in my place when needed!

This week I wanted to share the song, “Always” by Kirk Franklin with you. An oldie but a goodie! The lyrics of the song truly epitomizes how I feel!

Check out the lyrics and the song down below and may your week be blessed!!!

[Verse 1]
You know I’ve had some lonely days
I’ve made mistakes and had to pay
I’ve had some friends that walked away
Just like mama told me
But there’s someone whose love is real
Who cares about the way I feel
Every pain, and erase every stain
There’s peace when I call out your name

[Chorus 1]
Jesus, You’re my everything
The cross, You did that just for me
So whatever You take me through
I promise you
I’ll spend my always with you

[Verse 2]
No one can touch my heart like You
Or make me smile the way You do
I finally found someone who
Who really, truly loves me
And when my strength has come and gone
Your life in me it makes me strong
Your hand is where my heart belongs
You take all my pain and erased every stain

[Chorus 1]

[Chorus 2]
Jesus, my whole life has changed
Since that day I cried Your name
For every time You’ve brought me through
I promise You
I’ll spend my always with You

Did He say He’ll never leave you?
Did He promise He’ll never forsake you?
How many of you believe that in here?
Let me hear you
(Ohhhhhhhh oohhhhhh ohhh)
He won’t let you down, right?
(Ohhhhhh ohhhhh)
He’ll catch every tear
So if you know He can be your Father and He cares for you
Come on and stand on your feet and help me praise Him in here

Monday Motivation: It Is So….

Hi guys,

Super quick blog post today! I just wanted to share a song I have been jamming on for a few weeks and had on repeat today! The song is “It is So ” by William Mcdowell featuring Travis Greene. The lyrics in full are right here, but I just wanted to touch on one part of the song that really stood out to me:

Well, He is Alpha – AMEN!
And Omega – AMEN!
He’s the beginning – AMEN!
And the end – AMEN!
Through every trial – AMEN!
Tribulation – AMEN
He always causes His people to win

What a comforting feeling to know that no matter what I’m going through, there is a God on the battlefield fighting for me and with him on my side I will be a winner EVERY TIME! Amen!! ❤

Take a listen to this song and be blessed!

Praise Him In Advance….

Praise Him In Advance….

Hey everyone,

I hope you are having a  wonderful week so far. This past weekend was a busy one for me. I had many rehearsals and events to attend so this oldish (lol) gal is EXHAUSTED! That’s why I had such a short post out yesterday… Nevertheless, this past Saturday was truly a blessing! I have been blessed with the opportunity to conduct a mass children ‘s choir for the Church of God of Prophecy in Eastern Canada’s National Convention ( Taking place in Mississauga Ontario at the Living Arts Centre from July 31 to August 2 2015…. I know… shameless plug 🙂 )

The feedback for children wanting or being able to participate was lackluster at best. I think I had about maybe 20 children confirmed to participate. So naturally, I was NERVOUS. Would you believe that at 10:30 am on Saturday morning 51 children showed up with an expectancy of 80+ children that are rehearsing and just weren’t able to make this particular rehearsal?? I could have kicked myself for doubting my prayers and God. I made candy bags as treats and had to send a friend to grab more candy and make more treat bags for me.

After the rehearsal was done,  I had a short while before my next rehearsal/ event began. As I was sitting in my seat a soft still voice came to me and said “Why did you doubt me? I got you girl” ( I make no joke that’s what I heard LOL) The scripture Philippians 4:6 came to me and it reads:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. ( NLT)

Why do we worry about things that we already have given to God? If you ask Him to handle it, trust that He’s got it under control. There is absolutely nothing that He cannot solve, 🙂

Now, on Saturday evening I had an opportunity to participate in song at a concert for one of my sister churches. The West End Worship Centre ( WEWC) has relaunched their youth choir and Saturday was  their first concert. Maaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnn…. ( is that exaggerated enough??) to say that I was blessed would be an understatement. The young people of that church are blessed. It was truly beautiful to see dozens of young people worshiping and having fun in the house of God on a Saturday night was refreshing.

WEWC Youth Choir…

They ministered so many great songs but the one that really took me to a special place (because its one of my favorites) was Marvin Sapp’s ” Praise Him in Advance”. Take a listen here:

Here are the lyrics:

I’ve had my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around,
God came and spoke these words to me, praise will confuse the enemy. [repeat 2x]

I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing,
they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away.

I have my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around,
God came and spoke these words to me, praise will confuse the enemy. [repeat 2x]

I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing,
they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away.

That’s why I praise him with my hands, that’s why I praise him with a dance,
He’s given me a second chance, come on lets praise him in advance.

That’s why I praise him with a song, when things are right and when they’re wrong,
He’s given me a second chance, come on lets praise Him in advance.

Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him in advance. (

So many times we get wrapped up in our situations. We fail to lack the ability to “see the light at the end of the tunnel” . Instead of putting faith  in God to deliver us from our situations, we tend to question Him ” Why me?”  Well why not you? How do you know that everything that you are going through isn’t preparing you for something? It is inevitable. At some point in our lives, we are going to face hardships. But through those hardships try to remember:

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed ( 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 ) NLT

God is with you through even the hardest of days. When it seems that everybody has abandoned you and there is no way out, praise your way through! It may not seem like you have anything to praise him for, but praise him anyway. My favorite line of song is ” Praise will confuse the enemy” So shout! Cry Out ! Let the enemy ( satan) know that he will not win!

The director of this choir is a friend of mine. She amazes me everyday. She has faced so much adversity in her family  and she still leans on and trusts God to see her through. She truly epitomizes grace. If I can have even one shred of the grace she exudes,I will be an even stronger woman of God. I pray that God will continue to bless her! The work she has done with these young people ( and countless others including myself) is truly amazing! God lives in  you! Keep pushing! Keep pressing! Your reward awaits you! God is pleased! Love you Wens!

One quick final shout out.:) My fellow blogger  friend/ church sister is a part of this choir ( check out her blog here on WordPress No Strings Attached)  I was so proud of her. Not only is she a wonderful person and blogger, she is a phenomenal singer. Y’all run over to her page and show her some love and encouragement! I know God is going to take her to higher places! I’m excited to go along on her journey!

Tonight I would like to leave you with one final song that I think sums up our topic tonight. It is Smokie Norful’s  “Still Say Thank You”

The lyrics read:

I’ve had sins and I’ve had pain
My heart has been broken
And my life has been strained
But in spite of everything I’ve been through
I still gotta say thank You

I’ve been up and I’ve been down
Had my life turn, turn, turn
Completely around
But in spite of everything I’ve been through
I still I gotta say thank You

Thank You, thank You
For Your many blessings
(For Your blessings)
In spite of my mess
(In spite of my mess)
Lord, You looked down and You blessed me
(For Your blessings)

Even in the midst of my test
(In the midst of my test)
(In spite of everything)
In spite of everything
(I’ve been through)
I still gotta say thank You
Thank You, Jesus

For Your blessings
(For Your blessings)
In spite of my mess
(In spite of my mess)
Lord, You blessed me
(For Your blessings)

Right dead in the middle of my test
(In the midst of my test)
(In spite of everything)
In spite of everything, in spite of everything
That I’ve been through
I’ve still gotta thank You, Jesus

I wanna say, I just wanna say, thank You, Jesus
(Thank You, Lord)
Oh yeah, thank You
Yeah, just wanna say thank You, Jesus
(Thank You, I gotta say)

I gotta say thank You for every iddy biddy
Thing You’ve done in my life
For all the ways make me
For all the doors You open, Lord

I wanna say hey
(Thank You)
(I gotta say)
Glory, Hallelujah, for all You’ve done in my life

You’ve been Lord, You’ve been my protection
(My protection)
All of the way
(All of my way)

I thank You, Lord
(I thank You, Lord)
I thank You, Lord
(I thank You, Lord)
I thank You, Lord
(I thank You, Lord)
Yes, yes, yes, yeah (Smokie Norful – Still Say, Thank You Lyrics | MetroLyrics )

In spite of everything I’ve been through, I still gotta say THANK YOU!!
