Monday Motivation: You Love My Flaws…

Hey guys, real quick post today!

Have you ever looked in the mirror and not liked what you see? Have you ever thought to yourself, ” I wish my hair was longer” or ” I wish my waist was slimmer” . I know I certainly have! I have looked in the mirror and just been unhappy. I have been in relationships that have made me rethink my worthiness. I have surrounded myself with “friends” that have made me second guess my confidence…I think everyone goes through some form of insecurity in their lives ( and if anyone tells you that they have NEVER  felt insecure ,feel free to give them that side eye lol)

Insecurity is something that is a real serious epidemic in our world today, especially with the emergence of social media. It seems that everybody is looking at an unrealistic view of reality.Especially the young ladies that are growing up in this society right now… I fear for them. We live in a world that tells us that if we are not a size 2, then somehow we aren’t as worthy of love. Well today I want to remind you that no matter what size you are, what mistakes you may have made in your life ( and we all have made mistakes) you are worthy of love,

One of my favorite scriptures is Psalms 139: 13-14 and it reads:

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

I want to remind someone today that you matter! Flaws and all! God loves you regardless! I mean He created you and He does all thing well! You are a work of art, the handiwork of the ultimate craftsman! How selfish of us to look at the masterpiece He has slaved over and be disappointed. Now, that’s not to say that you are going to love everything about yourself all the time; we have to be realistic as we are still human. But, let us remember that we are perfect in His eyes. Lean on Him and let Him teach you how to love yourself!

Kierra Sheard has a song called “Flaws” which I think is so fitting for this topic. It’s a song that can  .show us that God loves us no matter what and It also can serve as a reminder for those who are in an earthly relationship with someone who loves you despite your shortcomings, that you matter ❤

Take a look at the lyrics and listen to the song down below.

Sometimes I talk a little too much
Don’t listen enough
Sometimes it’s way too easy for me to beat myself up
Sometimes I hate the way I look when I look in the mirror
One look from you I knowMy flaws
You love, you love my flaws
Think they make me beautiful
You don’t see them as flaws at all
That’s why
That’s why, that’s why I love you
Cause you are, you are the one who
The one who loves my flaws

Sometimes I get a little unsure
A lot insecure
Sometimes I know I might say some words
That might cause some hurt
Sometimes I get in my own way
I’m way too much to put up with
But you put up with it all

My flaws
You love, you love my flaws
Think they make me beautiful
You don’t see them as flaws at all
That’s why
That’s why, that’s why I love you
Cause you are, you are the one who
The one who loves my flaws

You think I’m everything when I think I’m nothing
When I hate myself you still love me
Love me and

My flaws
You love, you love my flaws
Think they make me beautiful
You don’t see them as flaws at all

Oh God
You love, you love my flaws
Think they make me beautiful
You don’t see them as flaws at all
That’s why
That’s why, that’s why I love you
Cause I love, I love the one who
The one who loves my flaws

My flaws
You love, you love my flaws

Thank you God for loving me flaws and all!!
Happy Monday!
xoxo

  1. I’ll be the first to say I needed this!! Insecurities run rampant in today’s society and it unfortunately plays a role in my life. So thankful God put it in your heart to write on this at this very dire time. Love you Soph!!
